WAEC Insists 2026 Exams Will Be CBT – What This Means for Students and Parents

‎Full CBT Transition: The goal is for all WAEC exams (objective, essay, practical) to be conducted digitally by 2026, moving away from traditional paper-based tests.

‎Phased Rollout: The transition begins with pilot schemes in schools with ICT facilities, with other schools using community CBT centers.

‎Digital Marking: Examiners will also use digital tools, simplifying result processing.

‎Curriculum Changes: The Federal Government has reduced trade subjects from 26 to 6, with some renamed, while maintaining core content.

‎Subject Combinations: New subject combinations have been released, allowing flexibility for students to take subjects outside their core streams (e.g., science students taking Economics).
