Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reassured Nigerians and the international community after a brief incident during an official state visit to Turkey, where he stumbled at a welcome ceremony in Ankara.

The incident, which quickly went viral on social media, occurred during a formal reception hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Videos shared online showed President Tinubu momentarily losing his balance while walking past a guard of honour.

‎President Tinubu, 73, was attending a state welcome ceremony in Ankara when he appeared to step on an object on the ground, causing him to stumble. The footage briefly showed aides and officials assisting him before the camera cut away.
