Jamb To Stop Registration February 26 As 1.5 Million Candidates Register.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is coming to an end, urging all prospective candidates to complete their enrolment immediately to avoid missing the opportunity.

‎With millions of students preparing for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions, the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board has announced that there will be no further extension after February 26.

JAMB Registration Deadline 2026

According to the official notice, JAMB confirmed that:

‎✅ Sale of e-PINs will end at 12:00 midnight on February 26, 2026.

‎✅ Registration at accredited CBT centres will close on February 28, 2026 for candidates who already purchased their e-PINs.

‎✅ There will be NO extension of the registration period.

The board emphasized that its examination timetable follows a nationally coordinated academic calendar, leaving no room for deadline adjustments.

Over 1.5 Million Candidates Already Registered

‎As of mid-February, more than 1.5 million candidates have successfully completed their registration. However, JAMB revealed that registration centres are operating below full capacity, meaning many eligible students are yet to register.

‎The Board stated that CBT centres have the capacity to register up to 100,000 candidates daily, encouraging remaining applicants to act quickly.

Why JAMB Says There Will Be No Extension

‎JAMB made it clear that:

‎• ‎The UTME schedule aligns with other national examinations.

‎• ‎Extending registration could disrupt the academic calendar.

‎• ‎Candidates were given sufficient time to complete the process.

‎Officials warned that appeals after the deadline will not be accepted, stressing that late registration challenges can be avoided by early action.
